13 days sober

Well I have been off opiates for 13 days because I found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd child but I am still strugling... i would like to get some out patient help with the mental part of being addicted but Im scared of going anywhere because I am worried that I will get turned into DHS and get my little boy taken from me... does anyone know if a therapist or a treatment center can turn me in???

I wish I knew the answer for you. I do know that a Psychiatrist has strict codes he/she must follow. Only when severe crimes are on the horizon or have already been done, they must tell someone. I would call one, and ask what must be kept confendential and what must be morally told to the authorities.

However, you've been clean for 13 days and you're struggling with possible severe depression or relaspe. I really feel that must be kept confendential, but I'm not sure. I wish you the best, I know you must be going through hell.
Just check it out with a good Psychiatrist. I would be cautious with a therapist or therapy. A Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor and would have much more knowledge in this area.

There is nothing they can do as long as you do not have it still. Possession is the main law.

If YOU go for help YOURSELF, and are not *FORCED* into it, 99.99999% of the time, your children stay with whomever you like, grandma and grandpa, aunt/uncle, etc; until you get out of rehab.

If you really want to know for sure, call the hospital. They have privacy laws in which they can not talk to anyone about your issue(s).

thank you everyone for your replies... sadly i lost my baby and being an addict to cope i went right back into my old habbits

I know I need alot of help for a long period of time but I just dont know what to do. My boy is only a year old, his father is not in his life and the only person that could take him during treatment would have been my mom but we recently found out she has cancer and is now doing radiation and chemo

I wish i could go back to the first time I ever took a pill and not take it... I never knew how addicting they are. I know theres not much anyone can say to really help me here its just nice to talk about it with people who understands what im going through... I do not have a prescription to these evil pills so I cant really go to my doctor for help either
